Research Task 2
Circular Additive and Morphogenic Manufacturing (Regenerative Manufacturing)
Research in Task 2, Regenerative Manufacturing is accomplished through two substasks: 1) Sustainable Additive Manufacturing and 2) Control of Architecture and Material Properties. REMAT has made significant advances towards the overarching Task 2 milestone to develop thermo- and photochemical reaction-diffusion processes for regenerative thermoset polymers with fabrication rates, energy consumption, and materials performance that equal or exceed state-of-the-art additive manufacturing methods.
Subtask 2.1: Sustainable Additive Manufacturing
- Development of Predictive Tools for Resin Printing Performance
- Improved Resin Printing Performance - Control of Ink Gelation
- Improved Resin Printing Performance - Development of Stable Inks
- Automatic Closed-loop Control of the FROMP-DIW Printing Process
Subtask 2.2: Control of Material Architecture and Properties
- Morphogenic Patterning
- Chemical Initiation of Patterning
- Voxelated Printing
- Growth Printing
